Chelsea completed the biggest deal on deadline day, paying £26.8 million for Colombia international Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina.
Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah completed a move in the opposite direction – signing a six-month loan deal with the Serie A outfit – while Andre Schurrle joined Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in a permanent deal worth £24 million.
Chelsea have also allowed Ryan Bertrand to sign a permanent deal with Southampton following an impressive loan spell at St. Mary’s. The 25-year-old has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the south-coast club.
Meanwhile, Manchester United announced the loan signing of Bolton Wanderers defender Andy Kellett after confirming the departures of Wilfried Zaha and Darren Fletcher to Crystal Palace and West Brom, respectively.
Kellett, who spent time on loan at Plymouth Argyle earlier this season, has completed a shock move to Old Trafford, with Swiss midfielder Saidy Janko moving in the opposite direction until the end of the current campaign.
